This Riley Nine Plus Ultra Tourer has been extensively restored over the past 10 years. Fitted with the original Midlands Motor Body's four-seat tourer, body in maroon over black with black leather upholstery, hood, full side screens and tonneau cover.
The original engine and gearbox has been extensively restored by well-known Riley specialist including new crank, omega pistons, high-lift camshafts and coil conversion kit fitted. It also has an electric fan fitted for continental touring.
The manual gearbox has also been overhauled with new gears and clutch etc... This Riley has a huge history file with invoices totalling nearly $60,000.
A Lynx is essentially a topless Kestrel, sharing the same 'sports' engines, and other features as an Plus Ultra. For the first season the Lynx was offered as a 2-door 4-seater, but subsequently the Lynx became a 4-door 4-seater sports tourer.
The spec below is the same on both cars however, most Lynx chassis were fitted with the pre-selector gear box. The Riley 9 Ultra Plus is fitted with the very rare manual gear box which makes the car perform so much better than the pre-selector type of similar years, making it faster and more agile into corners.
This desirable double drop chassis series with twin cam engine sounds really sweet and performs well with excellent oil pressure and has been with the last owner for the past 8 years.
Used on many long distance tours around the UK and overseas covering 15,000 miles with maintenance done regardless of cost.
Ready to use and enjoy. A great investment.
